The Landgasthof Bären is located in the ancient farming village of Zarten – right in the heart of the Dreisamtal. The idyllic Zarten – with about 800 inhabitants – is a suburb of the municipality Kirchzarten.

To the west is the university town of Freiburg i.Br., which is about 10 km away and easily accessible from the motorway A5 (Karlsruhe-Basel). To the east, the B31 crosses the Dreisamtal at Kirchzarten in the middle of the southern Black Forest and parallel to the world-famous Höllentalbahn. The distance to the Bodensee-Autobahn A81 (Stuttgart-Singen) is approx. 45 km. In the south and southeast of Zarten you can easily reach the Upper Rhine, the Swiss border or Lake Constance.

Please note that we are closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
You will receive the information on your reservation confirmation for handing over the keys.
When you arrive on our rest days, you will find a telephone number for Mr. Klaus Steinhart in the key safe for emergencies or important questions. In your room you will find our guest folder with all the important information about the house and the surrounding area.

Arrival is possible from 3 p.m.

Breakfast also takes place on the rest day.

Arrival by train

With the station Kirchzarten there is a connection to the rail network of the German course (KBS 727, Höllentalbahn), which is served hourly. From there we will gladly pick you up with the bear shuttle.

Arrival by car

Via the motorway A5 (Frankfurt-Basel)) until exit Freiburg Mitte. From there on the B31, via Freiburg, in the direction of Donaueschingen to Kirchzarten-Zarten.

Or via the A81 motorway (Stuttgart-Singen) to the Bad-Dürrheim exit in the direction of Donaueschingen and from there via the B31 to Kirchzarten-Zarten.
